Immobile, hospitalized patient

My ability to move around has been restricted due to an acute illness

Your doctor has prescribed FRAGMIN to prevent blood clots because you are in the hospital with an acute illness and your mobility is restricted. It is very important that you follow your doctor’s directions on the use of FRAGMIN.

My FRAGMIN Treatment

My FRAGMIN Dosage

Each syringe you are prescribed contains the required amount of FRAGMIN for one injection.

My FRAGMIN Schedule

FRAGMIN is given by an injection under the skin once daily.

  • The usual duration of therapy is for up to 14 days.

The rubber needle shield of the FRAGMIN prefilled syringe may contain latex. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have had or currently have a hypersensitivity to latex (natural rubber).

Why am I at risk of developing a blood clot?

Because you have an illness that restricts your ability to move, you will have reduced blood flow. Using your muscles is important to help keep blood flowing through your veins. Slow moving blood is more likely to clot than blood that is flowing normally.

Talk to your doctor to fully understand your personal risk factors.
